Hope for Politics?

The Instapundit, law prof Glenn Reynolds, today mentions the vetos made by Va. Gov. Mark Warner of a gun ban and a late-term abortion ban; Reynolds opines that this indicates "hope for domestic politics". While I most definitely agree with him on the gun ban veto, I am once again befuddled by the stance of so many libertarians on abortion.

Too many people think that the pro-life argument is religious in nature. It's not -- or rather, there are pro-life arguments that are not theological. I'll make the argument another time (maybe today), but the fact remains that a political philosophy that prides itself on its rationality is failing on exactly that point when it supports abortion rights.
