Barack isn't that different

Just like every other major Democratic contender for the Party's nomination for the Presidency, he makes his ritual observances before Planned Parenthood, sounding very similar to others who have sought the nomination.

Until the hold of the abortion lobby over the Democratic Party is loosened, they're going to have a hard time convincing a majority of Americans to vote for them. Not that it can't happen, but I can confidently say that if Barack was pro-life, he'd probably be a shoe-in for President.

An ideal situation: Obama becomes pro-life and changes the Democratic Party orthodoxy on abortion rights.

We can't count on Obama becoming pro-life, and vote for him on that basis, of course.

But if all the high-flown rhetoric he specializes in proves to be elaborate cover for an unusually cynical conventional politician, voters likely will throw him out.

So, even if he does not MEAN all the lofty audacious hopes, he still, for his own survival, will have to consistently take the high road in office if he wants a second term and respect.

And if you take the high road at more than one or two junctions, take a stand for what-ought-be over what-is, you're forced, by ethics, reason and science into a pro-life stance pretty quickly.

Abortion is the furthest thing from pre-natal care, something liberal humanitarians (both of them?) should want.
