Conference & Converts
I went to a conference sponsored by Ave Maria University's Grad Program and AMU's Aquinas Center for Theological Renewal. This year's theme was "Aquinas the Augustinian," and... wow. Some high-powered intellects were there, some known, some not so much.
I got to meet Fr. Aidan Nichols, OP, Dr. Tracey Rowland, Dr. David Yeago, and Dr. Bruce Marshall, as well as the directors of the Auqinas Center, Drs. Matthew Levering and Michael Dauphinais. And I also got the pleasure of meeting a fellow blogger, Athanasius.
Shortly before I left for the conference, I found out that philosopher J. Budziszewski converted to Catholicism last year. Then, at the conference I found out that Lutheran theologian Reinhard Hutter (of Duke University) converted at the end of last year, and that (Episcopalian?) theologian R.R. Reno (of Creighton University) also converted recently. Interesting.
